Except for one room on the upper floor, Kibela was used as a barn and the lower floor as a stable for sheep. We want to renovate this building completely so that it can be autonomous and host people year-around, just like Bendida. Around the house we would like to free up some more space and build an outer staircase and courtyard.
On the upper floor we have replasterd the existing room and installed a second window. Our plan is to transform the barn in a second room by replacing the wooden exterior walls with solid earth in-fill walls and installing several big windows. The wooden floor needs to be renewed and an intermediate ceiling needs to be added for thermal isolation.
We have hardly touched the lower floor so far. The ground needs to be lowered to gain height. Bigger window holes are necessary and windows should be put in. For simplicity we intend to have plumbing only on the ground floor and install thus the kitchen and the bathroom here. The ceiling will have to be isolated and the necessary interior walls erected.
